Search Engine Optimization consulting means structuring your website and online marketing to convey your website’s relevance to key phrases users type into Google so that your website is ranked as high as possible on the SERP (Search Engine Results Page).
As an SEO consultant since 2005 I have seen many approaches by consultants and agencies and learned the best tactics that demonstrate your value to your ideal user base so you’re not just gaining leads you’re gaining the right leads.
All my techniques and strategies are aligned with what is termed White Hat.
This means that I play by the rules and I make sure your website and business are never at risk of being penalized by an algorithm update by Google or any other major platform.
Services I work with:
Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google My Business
These are staples in any SEO strategy. Google provides these tools free of charge to help understand your rank, configure your website properly to be evaluated for rank, and demonstrate value to potential customers and clients.
If you don’t have these set up yet or are struggling with using them at all I can help.
SEM Rush is consistently rated as the most valuable tool for evaluating your competitors ranking efforts, visualizing your own organic and paid efforts, and more.
With new tools being rolled out all the time SEM Rush is ideal for identifying keywords users already search to find businesses like yours and when used properly it becomes an essential element to your SEO strategy.
For the most complete understanding of your website you need to use Screaming Frog. For many smaller business’s websites it’s not overly important but if your website is more complex or has been online for a long time this tool provides the most complete outline of everything about your site.
Tools like Buffer and Hootesuite are great when managing your content curation. Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and many more can be implemented to help demonstrate your website’s value to Google around keyphrases you want to rank for when searched by users.
Offline ranking signals are the hardest part of SEO. While many agencies have tried to fake these using black hat methods such as private blog networks and link farms Google has evolved and those methods are now very counter productive to rank. Never build links. Earn them with great content.
When I work with you we first set up your website to perform for users by Google’s evaluation. We try for 100/100 scores across the board and get as close as we can. Often I employ other experts for improving site performance and I only use the best programmers/developers I’ve worked with over the years. If you’ve never seen this type of audit and are paying for SEO it’s a good idea to start looking for a new SEO consultant like me or someone else to help you. Technical SEO is very important.
After that we need to validate the claims made by the on site signals with off site signals.
The reason this is so difficult is it relies on the user and how they eventually interact with your content and website. The content needs to be good enough that influencers in your industry actually want to link to it. Sometimes that takes asking them but sometimes, if it’s good enough, influencers will link to it because it demonstrates value.
There is a lot more that can be applied depending on your industry and where the users normally find you. Not every social channel is suitable to every industry so before we start our organic rank strategy we first identify where the valuable social channels are to your business.
Moz is a big brand in SEO. I don’t use it as much any more as it has a lot of clutter.
If you already use Moz as an SEO tool I can work within it’s boundaries but for the most part I would only ever double check efforts using it. The keyword tool is good but not better than others but if budget is a concern and your business needs more basic SEO this tool is very good.
For email marketing I prefer MailChimp
MailChimp is an amazing tool for email marketing. When we create content for your business this service is the best around for letting your existing user base know about it through targeted email marketing.
